Christchurch 1st March 2012 - Russley Golf Club Function Centre Wellington 5th March 2012 - InterContinental Wellington Auckland 7th March 2012 - The Langham Public Accountants are facing big challenges right now. Some firms are contracting, others are stagnating. Profit has stalled for many firms. Growth, or lack of it, is a major challenge for a majority of you. For years this industry has focused so much on efficiency and production. That’s important, and yet it’s an inward focus. What we must do now is take the outward journey. That means evaluating our relevance to clients and delivering to them what they actually need and want in a way that improves their life. Tax simplification murmurings and changes to the financial reporting framework heralded for 2013 are leading us towards the marginalising of the ‘Annual Accounts’. That’s an opportunity in disguise. The firms that are growing have revolutionised their role with clients. They’re getting a lot of new business and the lion’s share of any start up. They’re marketing their service plans innovatively, they’re prepared to sell and they’re doing it with style. We all have road blocks, we all have to face realities… To cope with future change we’re going to need some re-invention.
