Viv Brownrigg is a Chartered Accountant who commenced sole practice in Te Puke in 1994, developing her business from scratch into a thriving $2m, 3 partner business and completing her succession plan in 2010.
In November 2011 she was awarded a fellowship by the NZ Institute of Chartered Accountants for her outstanding contribution to the accounting profession. In 2014 she received a fellowship from CPA Australia.
Recognising an industry need for systemisation, in 2002 Viv founded Business Fitness NZ Ltd, providing process driven content to hundreds of NZ accounting firms. In 2011 Viv sold Business Fitness to CCH New Zealand, part of the Wolter Kluwers international publishing empire and in 2012 launched The Accountants' RePublic.
The Accountants’ RePublic provides accounting firms with leadership and development content and training to enable them to grow and improve their practices. Viv has personally coached and mentored hundreds of firms and accountants throughout New Zealand and provides a number of specialist consulting services to the wider industry.
In response to a growing industry need, in 2013 Viv launched BuySellMerge, a service and web portal which solely focuses on the acquisition, sales and mergers of accounting firms.
Viv has a passion for technology enabling business to perform better and is also an independent Director on the board of listed company GeoOP Limited which provides an online scheduling, job costing and management solution for Services & Trades.
A passionate believer that there is no professional better served to improve New Zealand small business than the public accountant, Viv lives at Mount Maunganui beach with husband Greg.
